Maintenance for Your Rocket Glide System

Regular maintenance is essential to the long-term performance and durability of your Rocket Glide products. Proper maintenance helps:
  • Extend your equipment's lifespan by reducing wear and tear, corrosion, and system failures
  • Catch issues early to prevent major breakdowns and costly repairs
  • Protects your warranty coverage with regular inspections and documentation
  • Keeps your car wash doors functioning smoothly, even in harsh conditions

Skipping maintenance of your Rocket Glide products can lead to rust, magnet failure, and reduce efficiency, costing you time, money, and frustration.

Rocket Glide Monthly Maintenance Schedule

RG100 Carriage:

  • Check Oil Level: Remove the oil fill plug and check the oil level. Fill as needed with 10-weight, non-detergent oil.
  • Inspect External Wiper Seal: Closely inspect the seal for wear or damage, replacing if necessary.

Cylinder

  • Clean Exterior: Use solvent or brake cleaner and wipe down with a dry cloth.
  • Lubricate the Cylinder: Apply a thin coat of WD-40 or 10-weight oil to the cylinder's surface.
  • Inspect for Damage: Check the cylinder for scratches, dents, or rust that could impact its performance.

Air System

  • Check Air Dryer: Make sure it's functioning properly to avoid damage caused by moisture.
  • Inspect Control Systems: Confirm the system is providing proper lubrication (one drop per cycle) to prevent internal wear.

Quarterly

  • Oil Check for RG100 Carriage: Unbolt door from carriage and cycle door by hand to assure non labored and smooth operation. Remove the oil fill plug, check the oil level, rotate the carriage 180*, drain, rotate back to the original position, reassemble, and fill with 10-weight, non-detergent oil as needed. This will need to be done January, April, July, October.
  • Wiper Seal Inspection: Closely examine the external wiper seal for any signs of wear or damage, replacing if necessary.

Why Monthly Maintenance is Non-Negotiable

Failure to follow this maintenance schedule can lead to:

  • Rust buildup that voids your Rocket Glide product's warranty
  • Magnet or seal failure that leads to downtime and expensive repairs
  • Reduced efficiency and operations of your system

Get the best performance, protect your investment, and extend the life of your Rocket Glide system with consistent monthly maintenance.
