In October of 2023, Bob Blasi, the owner and operator of the West Wash in Pratt, Kansas, faced a major problem. As he prepared for the upcoming winter season, he discovered one of his air-operated cylinders wasn’t functioning properly.
After removing the cylinder from the carriage and disassembling the system to repair the issue, he was shocked to find that the magnets had rusted and broken apart. Even more frustrating, when Bob contacted Airlift to buy replacement parts to repair the Airlift Magnaglide system, he was told they didn’t exist – he’d have to fully replace the carriage at a cost of $1,100.
This didn’t sit right with Bob, and he was determined to find a better, more cost-effective solution. The very next day, he sketched his idea for a rebuildable carriage, and the Rocket Glide RG100 was born.
By early 2024, Bob worked with an engineer to design and patent the carriage. He assembled and installed the RG100 on his existing Airlift cylinder. After a full year of field testing without failure, Bob has since designed a lineup of rebuildable cylinders and replacement parts. The full line of Rocket Glide products are now available to ship.
